Lots of good reasons can bring
you into the horse world.
It could be a professional interest - as a breeder, a trainer, a jockey
and so on.
Perhaps you love agonistics, or you like some exciting risk, or you
yearn the old times, when few cars
were polluting the wind.
Perhaps what you want is to test your physical
and mental balance. Or you like trekking, as a mean to feel the soul of
unknown countries, or you like to look for new friends.
Some riders are mostly interested in horsewomen.
If you love any of these, you love riding.
Or you simply love horses,
much more than what you can do with an horse.
What kind of an horse? Any kind; an athlete or a jade; a green foul or
an old patriarch. No matter if it can share with you a show, or it
can't. If you can ride on it, or you can't.
You can't hurt who you love
on purpose.
Nevertheless, many
current practices inherently induce soreness and pain. Some of them
induce an immediate pain; some cause a delayed pain to a horse worn out
before time.
If you love horses, you can
help them a lot.
In the last years, a deep
revolution is changing anything about horsemanship. Nevertheless, it's
not so easy - mainly, if you are an experienced horseman - to
realize that you have to review anything
you know, and that you probably have to start from beginning
again.
Here you'll find some
layman suggestions - just to begin.
